LO-CAT LO-CAT Catalytic Systems have been installed to oxidise hydrogen sulphide (H2S) sour gases into elemental sulphur and vent to atmosphere at low concentrations The LO-CAT "secret" is a non-toxic continuously regenerated catalytic reagent. The LO-CAT may be used in either aerobic or anaerobic processes. Many applications exist from base metal refineries to wastewater treatment plants. Other technologies are used in systems to address Volatile Organic Compounds (V.O.C's) and the selective catalytic reduction - SCR DeNox systems. PYRO FILTER |

The conventional approach to addressing the removal of particulate dusts from air at high temperature is to dilute this air stream with outside ambient air them pass the increased air volume through a bag house of filter cylinders. Our PYRO FILTER system uses ceramic candle type filters which may be operated at temperatures up to 800°C. Some applications require the air stream to be held at high temperature
for the next stage Other applications do not have space available for large volume bag houses. In other applications ceramic candle filtration is 'not just an alternative - it is a better system that costs less'. AMBIENT AIR We treat the air in the Clients' room and / or buildings to suit the applications. The applications are often:
The systems we design and install may include A. DEEPBED AIR SCRUBBER |

A recent installation at a precious metals refinery The Deepbed Air Scrubber unit as shown in this picture has a number of benefits which include: CONSTRUCTION MATERIAL VERSATILITY The standard construction is mild steel with protection coatings to our standard or as specified by the Client. Other materials may be offered - aluminium, stainless steel, fibreglass or polypropylene. VARIOUS GAS FILTER MEDIA Many applications have several contaminant gas challenges. These gas challenges may require a dedicated media for removal or may require more than one media to efficiently remove a certain gas challenge. ENGINEERED VERSATILITY When the gas challenge list and concentration levels are known it is possible to design for major maintenance visits at specific intervals - the most common requested interval is one year to integrate with planned shuts on the site.
Downtime for maintenance is reduced to the minimum as:
B. AIR PURIFICATION UNITS |

THE MOST FREQUENTLY INSTALLED AIR PURIFIER UNITS IN SOUTHERN AFRICA. The Air Purifier Units above is installed for various reasons in different applications. The APU units are installed in various configurations i.e. horizontal or vertical. They may also be used for various duties i.e. pressurisation, recirculation or combination duty in the applications. LOW CHALLENGES Where only one gas at low challenge level needs to be addressed and therefore visits to maintain the system are at reasonable intervals acceptable to the Client. POLISHING Where the Client specifies adherence to a strict cleanliness level e.g. G1 Benign in a high personnel traffic application. That is, to address "walk-in" contamination or eliminate contaminants produced in the room. C. ELECTRONIC CABINET UNIT |

The Electronic Cabinet Unit was designed to offer protection against corrosion attack. These units are installed for protection of the control equipment in specific electronic controls cabinet located in say a large volume high voltage substation where treatment of the entire room is not warranted. The system comprises a Deepbed Air Scrubber (DAS) unit in a combination duty, that is, pressurisation of the room plus recirculation of cleansed air, for reduction of corrosive gas levels, together with a close control air conditioning unit to provide the correct temperature and relative humidity levels. The full air treatment system maintains: CLEANLINESS: ISA Level 1 Benign E. REFURBISHMENTS |

We are one of the very few companies worldwide which has the INHOUSE EXPERTISE AND EXPERIENCE of the two air treatment disciplines to design and install the correct equipment to reduce the levels of corrosion attack on electronics instrumentation controlling the process. These disciplines are phsycrometrics i.e. air conditioning for control of temperature and relative humidity PLUS cleaning i.e. particulate and gas phase filtration to avoid the levels of corrosion attack on the electronics instrumentation. The picture above is of an application where we were called in to rectify an application where the air system's equipment supplied by others and was not achieving the desired conditions. i.e. an air scrubber unit to provide the CLEANLINESS part of the system plus a chilled water cooling coil to address the PSYCHOMETRIC cooling part of the system. |
